Terms of service

Last updated: September 2026. These terms govern your use of Hanzi Sheets ("the Service"), operated by the Hanzi Sheets team ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these terms.

1. What the Service is

Hanzi Sheets is a browser-based generator of printable Chinese writing practice worksheets (tracing grids, stroke order, pinyin/zhuyin, dictation quizzes). The generator runs entirely in your browser; worksheets are produced as PDF/print output for personal, family, and classroom use.

2. Free and paid plans

• Free plan — a limited number of worksheets per day, no account required.
• Pro (subscription) — unlimited generation and premium templates while the subscription is active.
• Lifetime (one-time) — permanent access to Pro features with a single payment, offered in limited quantity.

We may change plan limits with notice on the pricing page. Paid access is activated per device/browser via an activation code; please keep your code safe.

3. Payments and our reseller

Orders are processed by our online reseller and Merchant of Record, Waffo Pancake, which handles payment processing, taxes, invoicing, and order-related inquiries. Your payment statement may show Waffo rather than Hanzi Sheets. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel anytime in the customer portal (sign in with the email used at purchase).

4. Refunds

If the Service does not work for you, contact us within 14 days of purchase at support@hanzisheets.com (or via the customer portal) and we will refund you — no questions asked. Lifetime purchases are refundable within 14 days as well. Refunds revoke the associated activation.

5. Your content and license

Text you paste into the generator stays on your device. Worksheets you generate (including with word lists we provide) are yours to print, copy, and share for personal, family, and classroom use, including paid classes you teach. You may not resell generated worksheets as a competing worksheet product or service.

6. Acceptable use

Do not abuse the Service: no scraping of the site or its data files at volume, no attempt to bypass plan limits by technical means, no unlawful content. We may block abusive usage.

7. Intellectual property

The Service's software, design, and compiled word lists are our property. Third-party data and fonts are used under their respective open licenses, listed on the About & licenses page.

8. Disclaimer and liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Stroke order and pronunciation data are compiled from public sources and may occasionally differ from a specific regional standard; teachers should follow their own curriculum where it conflicts. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Changes and contact
